Our Story

L.E.A.R.N. Northeast in Montclair, New Jersey, is a nonprofit, pro-life organization and charity. Our purpose is to draw attention to the abortion rates, specifically of the African-American community, by hosting an annual march on Washington, D.C. This group started in 1993 when some educators, medical professionals and clergy members met to discuss the encroachment of the abortion industry that was specifically targeting African-American communities. This issue was discussed but no organization decided to make it a priority, not even the Black Power or Empowerment Movements. That is why we formed this group, and now we are the largest African-American, pro-life group in the country.
